Most Conservatives have boycotted Saturday Night Live for a long time now. This is primarily because of its overwhelming liberal majority members, and its constant attacks on conservatives, especially President Trump. Despite this, outspoken Trump supporter, rapper Kanye West, had a refreshing message, expressing his support of the president. This obviously did not sit well with many of the fans and other spectators. West, who was wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat during this, ended his season premiere guest spot on “Ghost Town,” with a political speech about why he supports Trump. The opposition to this speech came from not just fans in the seats, but all the way up to celebrities such as comedian Chris Rock, who recorded the speech from West, and was routinely laughing at him.
With soft music in the background, Kanye said, “I wanna cry right now, black man in America, supposed to keep what you’re feeling inside right now…” He also said that Democrats always want the black vote, and that their ultimate plan is to take the father of the house and put them on welfare. He then asked the crowd if they knew that that was the Democrat’s plan. West is still asked about why he supports Trump because of Trump’s supposed “racism.” West said, “Well, if I was concerned about racism, I would’ve moved out of America a long time ago.” West would surprisingly announce again that he is running for president in 2020, something he said back to when Obama was president, then thanked the crowd, despite knowing that the majority of the people didn’t agree with what he had to say. During the speech, it is reported that people were laughing in the crowd, and it only received a small amount of applause.
President Donald Trump found time Sunday morning to tweet about Kanye, saying, “Like many, I don’t watch Saturday Night Live (even though I past hosted it) – no longer funny, no talent or charm. It is just a political ad for the Dems. Word is that Kanye West, who put on a MAGA hat after the show (despite being told ‘no’), was great. He’s leading the charge!” It will be interesting to see in the future if any other actor, actress, or musician comes out to show their support for the President after Kanye West’s performance on Saturday Night Live.
