Peter Fonda is famous for his acting, and who his father and sister are, but he hit the news for something else this past week, but this time something much more disturbing. The United States Secret Service was sent to speak to Fonda over his comments where he said, “We should rip Barron Trump from his mother’s arms and put him in a cage with pedophiles and see if his mother will stand up against the giant a–hole she is married to. 90 million people in the streets on the same weekend in the country. F—”
Obviously, these were some offensive comments towards Trump supporters and especially the Trump family. First lady Melania called the tweet ” Sick, and irresponsible “, and Donald Trump Jr. called Fonda a ” Sick individual “. Fonda would later apologize in a statement, ” I tweeted something highly inappropriate and vulgar about the president and his family in response to the devastating images I was seeing on television. ” This would not ease the anger of some people, however. According to the Western Journal, Fonda has been labeled by some as a ” domestic terrorist ” by the Border Control Union. Which can be seen as a fair statement to some when you basically say that the president’s son should be raped.
Where other people are upset is when it comes to accountability. Fonda is releasing a new movie called ” Boundaries ” lots of people are calling for the stoppage of this movie being released, after what happened to Rosanne Barr. Rosanne a few weeks back, tweeted some offensive comments towards Valerie Jarrett, a senior adviser to President Barack Obama, which also included some false information about George Soros and his connections to Nazi Germany. Barr’s show, ” Rosanne ” was immediately taken down by ABC, but Fonda gets to keep his movie. Some see this as an example of double standards, and that everybody, no matter who you are, should be held accountable for using demeaning language towards anyone. There are no signs that Peter Fonda’s movie will not be aired, or that he will face any criminal punishment, but what he said was morally wrong on so many levels, and despite apologizing for the incident, it is definitely going to affect his credibility in the political world.
